Our first review with Glenn Murcutt, Richard Leplastrier, Peter Stutchbury and Britt Andersen was held today. I am in a group of four developing an understanding of a stunning site deep in the forest and mountains of New South Wales. The project is to develop a scheme for a new art gallery based upon an understanding of landscape and approach.
The first review went well and the approach we developed was received well. Above are our sheets produced after two days work.
We created sheets that went from a macro scale of the valley and impact of the river on the region. Further drawings illustrated the sections through the site, valley and proposed site. Analytical plans were created alongside concept sheets to create a context to move onto for the next stage.
Glenn’s insight and commentary was great to receive and we are in a good place to move to the design stage. Phew!
The next stage is to progress to an initial design but looking forward to a site visit to see Glenn’s Simpson Lee house tomorrow.
