Winner: bere:architects & The Princes Foundation for Building Community
Runner up: a3h architekten
Runner up: Good Architecture
The winning image is above and I can’t help but feel underwhelmed by the conservative nature of it. Admittedly the aim was to demonstrate that the Passivhaus standard can provide an affordable method of delivering ultra-low energy social and private housing, however a more challenging design would have been more interesting and therefore promote the ideas of sustainability in an exciting manner.
